Flood Advisory issued July 19 at 7:00PM CDT until July 19 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southeastern Hamilton County in south central Illinois... Southwestern White County in southeastern Illinois... Northwestern Gallatin County in southern Illinois... Northeastern Saline County in southern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 1000 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 700 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Norris City, Ridgway, Enfield, Equality, New Haven and Omaha. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Heat Advisory issued July 19 at 2:15PM CDT until July 21 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Heat index values between 100 to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Higher humidity levels combined with hot temperatures on Tuesday may cause heat index values to near 110 degrees. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
