For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 102 degrees are expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast Kentucky. * WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 9 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 2:15AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY Mostly clear skies, light winds, and ample low-level moisture are helping areas of valley fog to develop and become dense this morning. Visibilities will be below a quarter of a mile at times in some locations. Be sure to slow down and use your low beam headlights when you encounter any fog. Look for visibilities to start improving after 8 AM.
