Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 18 at 12:02PM CDT until June 18 at 12:45PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA At 1202 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 10 miles north of Latimer to near Pearlington, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, St. Martin, Diamondhead, D'iberville, Latimer, Kiln, Lyman, Shoreline Park, Saucier, Vancleave, and Gulfport Airport. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 7 and 50. Interstate 110 in Mississippi between mile markers 2 and 4. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southern Mississippi. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Southern and Eastern Harrison County in southern Mississippi... * Until 315 PM CDT. * At 1220 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, Diamondhead, St. Martin, D'iberville, Shoreline Park, Pearlington and Gulfport Airport. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
