Outer waters from Sandy Hook to Great Egg Inlet NJ from 20 to 60 nm... * Until 1115 PM EDT. * At 938 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 24 nm northwest of Pine Beach to near Sea Isle City, moving east at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Sea Girt Reef, Atlantic City, Ship Bottom, Garden State South Reef, Axel Carlson Reef, Silverton, Harvey Cedars, Great Egg Reef, Ocean City Reef, Lavallette, The Lump, Barnegat Light, North Beach Haven, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Park, Brigantine, Ocean Gate, Little Egg Reef, Atlantic City Reef, and Great Egg Inlet. Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 4 at 10:01PM EDT until July 4 at 10:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 1001 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Vista Center to Old Halfway to near Tuckerton, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. Strong to damaging winds can occur ahead of any rain associated with a gust front. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. Locations impacted include... Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Jackson, Howell, Barnegat, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Egg Harbor City, Tuckerton, Presidential Lakes Estates, Seaside Heights, Lakehurst, Pemberton, Farmingdale, and Surf City. This includes the following highways... Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 11 and 34. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 43 and 110. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
