Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wisconsin River at Portage. * WHEN...From this evening to tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, There is general overflow of the river. Water is near homes in the Blackhawk Park area of Portage on the south side of the river along Old River Road. Floodwaters are over West Lake Road and Blackhawk Road in the Blackhawk Park area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 17.1 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.1 feet on 05/07/1993. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
