Red Flag Warning issued June 9 at 1:24PM MDT until June 10 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 222, 224, 229, 230 and 235. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. * WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent. * IMPACTS...Extreme fire danger is expected. Fires will uncontrollably spread and be very destructive. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Blowing Dust Advisory issued June 9 at 12:39PM MDT until June 9 at 7:00PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO * WHAT...Visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust. * WHERE...San Luis Valley. * WHEN...Until 7 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility. Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far as possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all the way off and keep foot off the brake pedal. Remember, 'Pull Aside, Stay Alive'.
