Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico... Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico... * Until 545 AM MDT. * At 242 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chaparral, Vado, Las Cruces, Anthony, White Sands Missile Range Headquarters, NMSU Main Campus, Berino, Dona Ana, Mesquite, San Miguel, Mesilla, Organ, Fairacres, Talavera and High Valley. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Watch issued September 22 at 9:54PM MDT until September 24 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is likely. * WHERE...South-central New Mexico. * WHEN...Through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Flood structures, like levees and dams, may be tested. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A late season plume of deep tropical moisture is transported northward ahead of an upper-level disturbance, bringing several rounds of thunderstorms with high rainfall rates to the region through Wednesday evening. Repeated thunderstorms will result in scattered to numerous instances of flash flooding with some considerable cases. Wednesday morning is the most likely time to see excessive rainfall.
