Waters from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola FL from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 900 AM EDT/800 AM CDT/. * At 654 AM EDT/554 AM CDT/, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 16 nm northeast of St George Island to 13 nm northeast of Empire Mica Wreck, moving west at 15 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots...suddenly higher waves...frequent lightning...and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. * Locations impacted include... Apalachicola, Cape San Blas, Mexico Beach, St George Island, and Port St. Joe. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
