Flood Watch issued September 16 at 2:55PM EDT until September 17 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Wilmington OH * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central Indiana, including the following county, Wayne and Ohio, including the following counties, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Delaware, Franklin, Greene, Hardin, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Union. * WHEN...From midnight EDT tonight through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of rain will occur overnight into Thursday. The heavier bands of rainfall will have 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts. People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.

Northwestern Preble County in west central Ohio... * WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 627 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Richmond, Eaton, Centerville, Hagerstown, New Paris, Greens Fork, Spring Grove, Middleboro, Interstate 70 at Exit 145, Williamsburg, New Hope, Interstate 70 at US Route 127 and Oklahoma. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
