Mississippi Sound... * Until 300 PM CDT. * At 124 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from Pass Christian to Lake Borgne, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Cat Island, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi Sound, Waveland, Long Beach, Pass Christian, Lake Borgne, Ship Island, Gulf Park Estates, Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and Gulfport. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southeastern Louisiana...southern Mississippi...and the adjacent coastal waters. Dangerous high winds, waterspouts and suddenly higher waves are expected! Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them. Seek shelter or move to safe harbor immediately!

Southern Harrison County in southern Mississippi... * Until 200 PM CDT. * At 116 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Pass Christian to near Long Beach to 6 miles southeast of Bay St. Louis to 8 miles south of Waveland, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Long Beach, Pass Christian, St. Martin, Diamondhead, D'iberville, Latimer, and Gulfport Airport. This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 23 and 47. Interstate 110 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 4. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for southern Mississippi.

Central Harrison County in southern Mississippi... * Until 415 PM CDT. * At 101 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach, Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Pass Christian, Diamondhead, St. Martin, D'iberville, Shoreline Park, Pearlington and Gulfport Airport.
