Flood Watch issued June 15 at 1:57AM CDT until June 17 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following areas, Brooks, Cameron Island, Coastal Cameron, Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy, Inland Cameron, Inland Kenedy, Inland Willacy, Jim Hogg, Kenedy Island, Northern Hidalgo, Southern Hidalgo, Starr, Willacy Island and Zapata. * WHEN...From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread heavy rainfall will likely produce totals between 3 to 6 inches with pockets of 8 inches or more possible. Flood Advisory issued June 15 at 9:30AM CDT until June 15 at 12:30PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Central Cameron County in deep south Texas... * WHEN...Until 1230 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 930 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Harlingen, La Feria, Santa Rosa, Palm Valley, Los Indios, Rangerville, Santa Maria, Primera, Combes, Moises Vela Middle School, Palm Valley Police Department, Doctor Hesiquio Rodriguez Elementary School, Harlingen High School South, Harlingen City Reservoir, Harligen Municipal Golf Course, Lamar Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, La Feria Police Department, La Feria North and La Feria Public Library. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
