Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - - A line of thunderstorms with rainfall rates locally in excess of 1 to 2 inches per hour may move across portions of northern and northeastern Illinois late this evening. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1028 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Streator, Pontiac, Dwight, Fairbury, Chatsworth, Forrest, Flanagan, Odell, South Streator, Cullom, Cornell, Saunemin, Long Point, Campus, Reddick, Emington and Strawn. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
