Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued September 12 at 3:44PM CDT until September 12 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 667 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN OKLAHOMA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN THE PANHANDLE OF OKLAHOMA BEAVER IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN THE PANHANDLE OF TEXAS GRAY HEMPHILL LIPSCOMB OCHILTREE ROBERTS WHEELER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BEAVER, BOOKER, BRISCOE, CANADIAN, CODMAN, FARNSWORTH, FOLLETT, FORGAN, GLAZIER, HIGGINS, KINGSMILL, LAKE MARVIN, LELA, LORA, MIAMI, PAMPA, PERRYTON, SHAMROCK, TWITTY, WAKA, WHEELER, AND WOLF CREEK PARK.

Special Weather Statement issued September 12 at 7:58PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX At 758 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Lipscomb to Glazier to 9 miles west of Canadian. Movement was southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lipscomb, Canadian, Follett, Higgins, Lora, Glazier, and Lake Marvin. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for the Panhandle of Texas.
