South central Garfield County in southern Utah... Southwestern San Juan County in southeastern Utah... Eastern Kane County in southern Utah... * Until 130 AM MDT. * At 1258 AM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 21 miles southeast of Escalante to near Antelope Island, moving west at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Big Water, Lake Powell, Paria Canyon, Stateline Wash Slot Canyon, Stud Horse Point, Labyrinth Canyon, and Dangling Rope Marina. This includes the following highways... US Route 89 between mile markers 0 and 15. Utah Route 12 between mile markers 63 and 72. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Lake Powell, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
