The strongest winds are expected on Oahu, especially over and downwind of terrain. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Watch out for falling tree branches when walking or driving. Make sure tents and awnings are secure or take them down. Be prepared for power outages.

This swell combined with strengthening trades is producing advisory level surf along east facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai that will maintain tonight and then begin to diminish on Sunday as Nolo moves westward away from the islands. * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 9 to 12 ft today, becoming 10 to 14 ft tonight. * WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai and Oahu. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
