Wind Advisory issued June 18 at 2:05PM EDT until June 19 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA * WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, southeast, and west central Georgia. Some isolated higher wind gusts may be possible. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 8 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Special Weather Statement issued June 18 at 9:44PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA At 943 PM EDT, National Weather Service doppler radar indicated a line of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Woodville to Raytown to Sandersville, and moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...40 to 50 mph wind and increased chance of a brief tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...While winds should result in minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of light, unsecured objects, the leading edge of this line of storms has also exhibited areas of localized rotation. A brief tornado could quickly form. Locations impacted include... Sandersville, Washington, Greensboro, Louisville, Warrenton, Sparta, Gibson, Crawfordville, Wrens, Wadley, Davisboro, Union Point, Tennille, Tignall, Harrison, Stapleton, Woodville, Bartow, White Plains, and Siloam. People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central and east central Georgia.
