Northwestern Marion County in central Kentucky... Nelson County in central Kentucky... Washington County in central Kentucky... * Until midnight EDT tonight. * At 852 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bardstown, Springfield, Lebanon Junction, Bloomfield, Loretto, Willisburg, Mackville, Fairfield, Croakes and Fredericktown. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely and have them relay your report to the National Weather Service in Louisville.

Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1058 PM EDT /958 PM CDT/, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
