Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Smithfield, Nashville, Lillington, Halifax, and Wilson. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Strong winds may occur well ahead of any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
