Flood Watch issued July 24 at 3:12PM EDT until July 25 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast South Carolina, including the following areas, Charleston, Coastal Colleton, Dorchester, Inland Berkeley, Inland Colleton and Tidal Berkeley. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving front will interact with the afternoon sea breeze, yielding a heavy rainfall threat across portions of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Flood Advisory issued July 24 at 4:32PM EDT until July 24 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Charleston SC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Charleston County in southeastern South Carolina... Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina... * WHEN...Until 615 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 430 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with torrential rainfall extending from Delemar Crossroads into parts of West Ashley. As much as 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen across inland portions of lower Charleston County with lesser amount elsewhere. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall through 615 PM and extend back into Downtown Charleston through the period. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, Johns Island, Downtown Charleston, James Island, Daniel Island, Hollywood, Ravenel and Sullivan's Island. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
