For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding expected. * WHERE...Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy and Coastal Cameron Counties. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 1 PM CDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 1 PM to 7 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Structural damage to buildings, boats and boat ramps unprotected by seawalls may occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Observed minus predicted tides, or storm surge, continues to be near 3 feet this evening. With a continued long period swell overnight into Friday morning as well as slightly higher predicted tides, water levels above normal conditions should once again range from 2.5 to 2.75 feet. The high tides may continue to cause damage to docks and boat ramps. Tide departures should decrease Friday afternoon and evening, with lower impacts...hence the advisory for that time. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
