Special Weather Statement issued June 12 at 11:20PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS At 1120 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Brewster to 5 miles southwest of Oakley to 9 miles north of Scott State Lake. Movement was northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Oakley around 1125 PM CDT. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 50 and 86. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
