Special Weather Statement issued June 9 at 7:45PM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX At 744 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Cactus, or 12 miles north of Dumas, moving northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Dumas, Borger, Guymon, Perryton, Spearman, Stratford, Beaver, Hartley, Cactus, Fritch, Sunray, Hooker, Stinnett, Goodwell, Gruver, Channing, Optima, Hardesty, Sanford, and Griggs. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for the Panhandle of Oklahoma...and the Panhandle of Texas.
