Tornado Watch issued April 26 at 12:54PM CDT until April 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Topeka KS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 140 IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS WASHINGTON IN NORTHEAST KANSAS BROWN MARSHALL NEMAHA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BLUE RAPIDS, CLIFTON, FRANKFORT, GREENLEAF, HANOVER, HIAWATHA, HORTON, LINN, MARYSVILLE, SABETHA, SENECA, AND WASHINGTON.

Special Weather Statement issued April 26 at 1:30PM CDT by NWS Topeka KS At 130 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Greenleaf, moving northeast at 55 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail damage to outdoor objects and vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Marysville, Washington, Hanover, Linn, Greenleaf, Barnes, Palmer, Hollenberg, and Bremen. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for north central and northeastern Kansas.
