HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters reported small hail. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Cary, Smithfield, Garner, Clayton, RDU International, Apex, Morrisville, Knightdale, and Micro. This includes the following highways... Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 107 and 90. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 283 and 318. Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 1 and 24. US 1 between Mile Markers 96 and 101. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Flood Advisory issued July 8 at 6:47PM EDT until July 8 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following county, Wake. * WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 646 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Raleigh, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, RDU International, Apex, Morrisville, Knightdale, Wendell, Rolesville, Falls Lake Boat Ramp, William B Umstead State Park, Lake Benson, Purnell, Lake Wheeler, Falls Lake State Rec Area, Falls Lake, Research Triangle and Carpenter. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Raleigh, Cary, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, Clayton, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, and Knightdale. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 285 and 314. Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 1 and 16. Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 6 and 17, and between Mile Markers 21 and 24. US 1 between Mile Markers 88 and 101. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
