Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 11 at 11:52PM EDT until June 12 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILL ALLOW SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 317 TO EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEW JERSEY THIS ALLOWS TO EXPIRE 5 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY MONMOUTH IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY MIDDLESEX IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY ATLANTIC BURLINGTON OCEAN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ATLANTIC CITY, EAST BRUNSWICK, EDISON, FREEHOLD, HAMMONTON, MOORESTOWN, MOUNT HOLLY, NEW BRUNSWICK, NORTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP, PERTH AMBOY, SAYREVILLE, AND TOMS RIVER.

Heat Advisory issued June 11 at 3:02PM EDT until June 12 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Heat index values up to 102 degrees expected. * WHERE...Western Monmouth, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Ocean, and Southeastern Burlington Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some showers and thunderstorms late Friday afternoon will provide some local relief from the heat, however it will still remain very humid. It will then turn much less humid this weekend in the wake of a cold front. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 11 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ The areas affected include... Coastal waters from Manasquan Inlet to Little Egg Inlet NJ out 20 NM... Coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Manasquan Inlet NJ out 20 NM... At 1130 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 22 nm west of Pine Beach, moving east at 40 knots. Locations impacted include... Sea Girt Reef, Ocean Gate, Barnegat Light Reef, Axel Carlson Reef, Silverton, Harvey Cedars, Forked River, Lavallette, Barnegat Light, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Park, Manasquan Inlet, Pine Beach, and Belmar. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
