Special Weather Statement issued September 17 at 12:11PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV Temperatures this afternoon and into the early evening will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s across portions of the lowlands. This, combined with high humidity, will result in heat indices ranging from the middle 90s to near 100 degrees in some locations. Try to limit time outdoors this afternoon when heat illness is most likely to occur. If going outdoors, make sure to drink plenty of fluids and take breaks out of the sun.
