Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 24 at 5:04PM CDT until June 24 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 387 TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AREAS UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING IN ILLINOIS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS COOK DUPAGE KANKAKEE WILL THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BOLINGBROOK, BOURBONNAIS, CAROL STREAM, CHICAGO, DOWNERS GROVE, EVANSTON, JOLIET, KANKAKEE, LEMONT, LOMBARD, NAPERVILLE, OAK LAWN, ORLAND PARK, PARK FOREST, SCHAUMBURG, WHEATON, AND WILMINGTON.

Flood Advisory issued June 24 at 6:23PM CDT until June 24 at 9:30PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including portions of the following counties, Cook and Kane. * WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 621 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms with rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Up to 1.5 inches of rain occurred from these storms earlier near Algonquin. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Elgin, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Buffalo Grove, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hanover Park, Carpentersville, Wheeling, Elk Grove Village, Algonquin, Huntley, Barrington, Rolling Meadows and Roselle. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
