Northeastern Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... * Until 215 AM CDT. * At 1117 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Aurora, Naperville, Wheaton, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Carol Stream, Addison, Glendale Heights, Woodridge, Oswego, Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Batavia, Yorkville, Hinsdale, Plano, Oak Brook, Westmont and Lisle. This includes the following streams and drainages... Tributaries on DuPage and Fox Rivers. A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.

Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1017 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
