Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 10:16PM CDT until June 20 at 11:15PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas, including the following counties, in northwest Kansas, Sheridan and Thomas. In west central Kansas, Gove and Logan. * WHEN...Until 1115 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1016 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oakley, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Gove, Monument, Park, Angelus, The Monument Rocks and Mingo. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
