Minnesota River near Jordan affecting Sibley, Scott and Carver Counties. Minnesota River at Savage affecting Dakota, Scott, Carver and Hennepin Counties. Prolonged flooding is most likely along the main stem rivers with shorter duration flooding along the tributaries. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River near Jordan. * WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 29.5 feet, Highway 41 at Chaska may close when the river reaches this stage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 945 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 24.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 31.1 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 31.7 feet on 03/23/2010. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
