Flood Watch issued June 6 at 1:53PM CDT until June 7 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Oklahoma, including the following counties, Atoka, Beckham, Blaine, Bryan, Caddo, Canadian, Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey, Garfield, Garvin, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Hughes, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnston, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, Love, Major, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Noble, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole, Stephens, Tillman and Washita and northern Texas, including the following counties, Archer, Baylor, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Knox, Wichita and Wilbarger. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 6:10PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 610 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles east of Gene Autry to 6 miles south of Willis to 7 miles northeast of Whitesboro. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Madill, Tishomingo, Kingston, Dickson, Colbert, Mannsville, Ravia, Silo, Milburn, Gene Autry, Mead, Hendrix, Cartwright, Woodville, Reagan, Lebanon, Russett, Willis, Little City, and Lake Texoma. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Lake Texoma, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
