Special Weather Statement issued September 17 at 12:13PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY A good amount of sunshine and another day under a dome of heat will send temperatures into the low to mid 90s for most of the area again this afternoon. When combined with higher than normal humidities, this results in heat indices from 95 to 100 degrees for much of eastern Kentucky during the afternoon. There is a low chance for showers or storms to provide limited and localized relief today. Try to limit time outdoors today during the afternoon, when heat illness is most likely to occur. If going outdoors, drink plenty of fluids and take breaks out of the sun.
