Flood Advisory issued May 30 at 11:07PM CDT until May 31 at 2:00AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Louisiana, including the following parishes, in north central Louisiana, Jackson, Lincoln and Union. In northwest Louisiana, Bienville and Claiborne. * WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1107 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ruston, Grambling, Jonesboro, Homer, Arcadia, Bernice, Gibsland, Dubach, Simsboro, Hodge, North Hodge, Vienna, East Hodge, Athens, Bienville, Lisbon, Quitman, Bryceland, Mount Lebanon and Mount Zion. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Special Weather Statement issued May 30 at 11:19PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA At 1118 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Grambling to Ruston to 12 miles west of Claiborne to 7 miles southwest of Richwood to 7 miles northwest of Columbia. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Monroe, Ruston, Claiborne, West Monroe, Grambling, Swartz, Brownsville-Bawcom, Brownsville-Bawcomville, Farmerville, Richwood, Arcadia, Bernice, Sterlington, Dubach, Choudrant, Simsboro, Marion, Vienna, Eros, and Downsville. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for north central and northwestern Louisiana.
