Flood Warning issued May 3 at 11:38AM CDT until May 3 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Grimes, Liberty, Madison, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker. * WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. Local media have reported water rescues. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1137 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen today in addition to Thursday's rainfall. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Conroe, Huntsville, Cleveland, Willis, Livingston, Shepherd, Panorama Village, Onalaska, Cut And Shoot, Groveton, New Waverly, Coldspring, Point Blank, Montgomery, Riverside, Goodrich, North Cleveland, Huntsville State Park, Lake Livingston State Park and West Livingston. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Flood Watch issued May 3 at 2:05PM CDT until May 5 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston, Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff has resulted in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Additional flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive river flooding is ongoing and additional street flooding remains possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A lull in activity is expected tonight into tomorrow; however, any rainfall that occurs during the overnight hours may contribute to the ongoing flooding. The primary focus is for late Saturday night into Sunday with the potential for additional heavy rainfall.
