Guadalupe River at Hunt affecting Kerr County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Guadalupe River at Hunt. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding reaches the floor of Schumacher Crossing east of Hunt preventing easy travel to western parts of the county. Areas of the headwaters are isolated temporarily as low water crossings flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:50 PM CDT Monday the stage was 7.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will oscillate around flood stage with a maximum value of 11.4 feet late this evening. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.6 feet on 05/24/2015. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Northwestern Bandera County in south central Texas... Central Kerr County in south central Texas... * Until 100 AM CDT. * At 804 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kerrville, Vanderpool, Ingram, Hunt, Waltonia, Kerrville-Schreiner Park and Lost Maples State Natural Area. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Flood Watch issued July 13 at 10:03AM CDT until July 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Zavala. * WHEN...From 9 PM CDT this evening through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An active period of weather is forecast for South Central Texas tonight through at least Thursday evening as tropical moisture interacts with slow-moving upper level disturbance and outflow boundaries. This combination could lead to heavy rain and flooding. Storm totals of 2 to 6 inches are possible over the Flood Watch area with isolated 10 inches. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 739 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kerrville, Ingram, Hunt, Waltonia and Kerrville-Schreiner Park. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
