Southern Cherokee County in northeastern Texas... * Until 945 PM CDT. * At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Diboll, Milam, Hudson, Huntington, San Augustine, Alto, Hemphill, Pineland, Wells, Woden, Etoile, Melrose, Martinsville, Macune, Pollok, Trawick and Bland Lake. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Flood Watch issued May 12 at 2:37PM CDT until May 14 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bossier, Caddo, De Soto, Natchitoches, Red River and Sabine and Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Cherokee, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Upshur and Wood. * WHEN...Through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms, some of which may cause heavy rainfall, will continue this afternoon and tonight across East Texas and Western Louisiana along and south of the Interstate 20 corridor, before diminishing late. However, additional showers and thunderstorms will redevelop over these areas Monday afternoon, and may produce heavy rainfall. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches, with isolated higher amounts possible.
