Flood Watch issued September 28 at 2:51PM CDT until October 2 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Much of central Iowa. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolong period of showers and storms is forecast Tuesday night through Thursday evening. This rain will fall on saturated soil. Rainfall totals will range from 2 to 4 inches in a southwest to northeast oriented band across central Iowa, with locally higher amounts likely. This rainfall may lead to flash flooding. In addition, poor drainage and low lying area may experience ponding.
