Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms late tonight through Saturday morning may produce widespread rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour that could lead to flash flooding, particularly over urban areas. Additional thunderstorms Saturday evening into early Sunday morning have the potential to produce torrential rainfall that results in flash flooding, though the exact placement of this rainfall remains unclear. Waves 3 to 6 feet expected. * WHERE...Lake IL, Northern Cook and Central Cook Counties. * WHEN...Until 3 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Swimming conditions will be life threatening, especially for inexperienced swimmers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An additional period of dangerous swimming conditions is expected tonight into early next week. Remain out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other shoreline structures.
