Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 28 at 12:31AM CDT until June 28 at 1:30AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD At 1229 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Colome to 13 miles southwest of Burke to 7 miles east of Springview, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Mesonet. At 1217 AM CDT, a 70 mph wind gust was reported near Wewela, SD. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. These severe storms will be near... Gregory and Dallas around 1235 AM CDT. Burke and Herrick around 1240 AM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include St. Charles, Bonesteel, Platte and Geddes. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from windows.
