Average rainfall amounts are forecast to range from 1.5 to 2.5 inches with locally higher amounts of 3 to 5 inches possible. Southern New Haven County in southern Connecticut... Southwestern New London County in southern Connecticut... * WHEN...Until 1045 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 750 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... New Haven, Milford, Middletown, Wallingford, Shelton, Guilford, Colchester, Clinton, East Hampton, Old Saybrook, Durham, Chester, Hamden, Stratford, Branford, North Haven, East Lyme, Seymour and North Branford. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
