Crittenden County in western Kentucky... Livingston County in western Kentucky... * Until 815 AM CDT. * At 442 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Metropolis, Marion, Vienna, Rosiclare, Goreville, Brookport, Salem, Dongola, Golconda, Dixon Springs, Joy, Burna, New Columbia, Ledbetter, Lake Of Egypt Area, Joppa, Cave-in-Rock, Smithland and Elizabethtown. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Flood Watch issued July 11 at 4:43AM CDT until July 12 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, western Kentucky, and southwest Indiana. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of rainfall are expected this afternoon and evening across portions of the area. An additional 0.75-2 inches of rain is possible.
