River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River at Hardin. * WHEN...Until Monday afternoon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 25.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 PM CDT Tuesday was 26.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.9 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Extreme Heat Warning issued June 30 at 1:25PM CDT until July 3 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS St Louis MO * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108. * WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, and west central Illinois and central, east central, northeast, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
