At 751 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Middle River, moving east at 15 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 48 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds and hail. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... Pinehurst, North Point State Park, Fort Smallwood Park, Hart Miller Island, Gibson Island, Bodkin Point, Tolchester Beach, Worton Point, Pooles Island, Gunpowder River, Baltimore Light, Sevenfoot Knoll, and Rock Hall. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central and northern Maryland...and the adjacent coastal waters. Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are expected.
