Flood Watch issued July 22 at 4:04PM EDT until July 24 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Hatteras Island, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Ocracoke Island, Pamlico, Southern Craven and West Carteret. * WHEN...From Thursday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving cold front will approach and then stall over eastern North Carolina beginning early Thursday morning and lingering through Friday. Rounds of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms could bring rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches.
