Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 5:35PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 535 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles north of Lagoon to 8 miles north of Rowan to near Wards Corner. Movement was northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Harrells, Garland, and Ivanhoe. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
