Special Marine Warning issued June 23 at 11:04PM EDT until June 24 at 12:30AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ For the following areas... Coastal waters from Manasquan Inlet to Little Egg Inlet NJ out 20 nm... Coastal waters from Sandy Hook to Manasquan Inlet NJ out 20 nm... Waters from Manasquan Inlet NJ to Little Egg Inlet NJ out 20 to 40 nm... Waters from Sandy Hook NJ to Manasquan Inlet NJ out 20 to 40 nm... At 1104 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Shark River Reef to 11 nm northeast of Barnegat Light Reef to near Ship Bottom, moving east at 45 knots. This line of storms has a history of producing near 40 kt wind gusts along the New Jersey shore. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail. SOURCE...Buoy. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Ocean Gate, Sea Girt Reef, Little Egg Reef, Ship Bottom, Barnegat Light Reef, Garden State South Reef, Axel Carlson Reef, Silverton, Harvey Cedars, Forked River, Lavallette, Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, North Beach Haven, Garden State North Reef, Shark River Reef, Point Pleasant Beach, Little Egg Inlet, Seaside Park, and Manasquan Inlet. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Air Quality Alert issued June 22 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange air quality alert Sunday for Ocean and Southeastern Burlington Counties. A code orange air quality alert means that air pollution concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include children...people suffering from asthma... heart disease or other lung diseases...and the elderly.
