Missouri River At Brownville affecting Nemaha and Atchison Counties. Missouri River At Rulo affecting Holt and Richardson Counties. Missouri River At Decatur affecting Thurston, Monona and Burt Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Nebraska City. * WHEN...From Monday morning to Tuesday, July 02. * IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Though not in danger of flooding yet, flood preparations begin for critical facilities along this portion of the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 14.9 feet...or 3.1 feet below flood stage. - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Monday morning to a crest of 24.5 feet Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday, July 02. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Heat Advisory issued June 23 at 2:38AM CDT until June 24 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Iowa and east central, northeast, and southeast Nebraska. * WHEN...From 1 PM to 8 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
