Hydrologic Outlook issued June 21 at 3:59AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL ESFLOT A steady soaking rain is expected this afternoon and evening. The highest rainfall amounts are forecast generally south of I-88 where totals in excess of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Many rivers and streams across the region remain elevated from recent heavy rainfall. Thus, rainfall amounts of this magnitude will result in renewed rises on area streams and rivers, with some potentially topping flood stage. Anyone in or near flood prone areas should closely monitor later forecasts. This will be the final outlook for this event.

Waves 4 to 7 ft expected. * WHERE...Lake IL and Northern Cook Counties. * WHEN...From this evening through late Monday night. * IMPACTS...Swimming conditions will be life threatening, especially for inexperienced swimmers. Remain out of the water to avoid dangerous swimming conditions and do not venture out onto piers, jetties, breakwalls, or other shoreline structures.
