HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and frequent lightning. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Stage Harbor Light, Hyannisport, Chatham Light, Monomoy Point, Nantucket Shoals Buoy, and Point Gammon.

Air Quality Alert issued July 17 at 6:08PM EDT by NWS Boston/Norton MA The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for Fine Particulates, from midnight tonight to midnight EDT Saturday night. An Air Quality Alert day means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity. Rip Current Statement issued July 18 at 12:40PM EDT until July 19 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Boston/Norton MA * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Washington, Southern Bristol MA, Barnstable MA, Dukes MA, Nantucket MA, and Newport RI Counties. * WHEN...From Sunday morning through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Additional moderate rains over Buzzards Bay were also expected to move over Cape Cod through midnight. HAZARD...Heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minimal. Ponding of water and minor urbanized and low-lying flooding. Locations impacted include... Barnstable, Falmouth, Brewster, Provincetown, Yarmouth, Sandwich, Bourne, Dennis, Mashpee, Harwich, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, Gosnold, and Hyannis. Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses.
