Flash Flood Warning issued July 6 at 1:11PM EDT until July 6 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 111 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with significant flooding near Lakewood with several road closures and flooded roadways. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Lakehurst, Mantoloking, Brick Township, Allenwood, Ramtown, Leisure Village East and Leisure Village. This includes the following highways... Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 22 and 34. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 85 and 99. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Flood Watch issued July 6 at 2:11PM EDT until July 6 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas, Atlantic, Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Camden, Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Southeastern Burlington, Sussex, Warren and Western Monmouth, and Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Carbon, Delaware, Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Monroe, Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional heavy showers and thunderstorms will impact the area this afternoon. Localized rain amounts of over 2 inches in an hour will be possible, leading to areas of flash flooding.
